Elephant Magic Thailand Yoga Retreat

15th - 21st November 2025
Chiang Mai - Thailand

There is something truly magical that happens when you spend time in close proximity with these gentle giants. Elephants have a very powerful Heart field, they are deeply empathetic, and have the kindest eyes that look right into your Soul. Elephant magic cuts right through the superfluous and helps clarify what is truly important.

Each day we will offer a unique experience for you to enjoy — full day elephant visit, a sound healing, hot spring visit, hike to local cave, herbal steam night and temple excursion. There is generous personal time for you to swim, sunbathe, read, walk in nature, relax with a spa treatment… However you choose to enjoy your time, it’s up to you.

Join us for a week-long journey of learning, transformation, inspiration, and joy. This retreat is designed for everyone who wants to enhance the quality of their life, from the merely curious to the serious yoga practitioner.

Thailand, and Chiang Mai specifically, is a deeply spiritual land, with both the profound effects of a population very dedicated to Buddhism, and a natural landscape and vibration that simply radiates peace and clarity.

Mala Dhara is a dedicated Yoga retreat venue, organic farm, and eco sanctuary, just 30 minutes from Chiang Mai and the airport. It’s a place to drop out, connect in deeply, and get clear on how you choose to live your life moving forward as you evolve.

Highlights

Accommodation

A collection of unique villas of varying alternative architecture and artistic appeal are located amongst the gardens of Mala Dhara. Most of them are beautifully curvaceous adobe constructions with round windows and doors, some others feature more timber or bamboo. All of them are spacious, natural, and energetically supportive. If you are unfamiliar with earthen structures, don’t think for a minute that this means you will have to compromise any comfort or style. Fine fixtures, tiles and basins, a mainstay in all of the spacious Mala Dhara bathrooms.

Elephant experience

We are dedicating a whole day to visit the famous Elephant Nature Park to watch elephants been fed, walk with them, observe them foraging, taking a mud bath and swimming in the river. Elephant nature park is home to 120 elephants who are finally able to live free from abuse within family herds and develop close friendships with one another. Elephants at the park are not required to work, do not perform tricks, and are not ridden. Instead, they are allowed to live a more natural, dignified life where they are respected.

Herbal Sauna

The legendary herbal steam night at Mala Dhara consists of an outdoor group steam, infused with deeply healing ‘fresh’ local medicinal herbs.Specially crafted homemade body scrub for deep skin cleansing, and cisterns of cool water for rinsing between rounds will be provided,  Special ice baths will also be available – for lovers of the cold plunge.  A large bonfire and earthen benches make a perfect gathering place between rounds in the sauna and a a cozy moonlit place to spend the rest of the evening chatting, playing music or star gazing.

Divine Dining

Kin Dee Plant Based Vegan Restaurant is the very heart of Mala Dhara and reflects their attitudes and ethos. You will enjoy three buffet meals a day. Prepare yourself for a wide range of taste-tempting, freshly prepared dishes, made with love and imagination, from super-healthy to super-naughty and everything in between! No M.S.G. or preservatives are used in cooking. Food and drink are one of the best ways to learn about new places and cultures. Let your taste buds experience the flavours of Thailand!

Yoga space

Morning yoga and meditation practices take place in the rice field yoga shala affording 360 degree ‘wall-less’ open air cool breezy views of the endless verdant rice fields and mountains. Our round light brick poolside yoga shala is ideal for the intimate comfort of a cool evening yoga practice. Both spaces will help you connect in with nature, connect in with your practice, and most importantly connect in with yourself.

Temple excursion

There are more than 300 temples in Chiang Mai (some of which are truly jaw-dropping). They vary architecturally due to the mix of Thai, Burmese, and Lao influences in the north. The region is rich in culture and history. We have the opportunity while on this retreat to experience both the impressive architecture and ornately decorated altars and Buddhas inside the temples. We will learn about the history and most importantly immerse ourselves in the deep, calm energy that exists in these temples.
