itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in cusco
We arrive in Cusco (the heart and soul of Peru), a beautiful Colonial city with amazing architecture. We will shuttle from the airport to our hotel conveniently situated off the historic Plaza de Armas. After a rest we will take a late afternoon walk through the cobblestone streets of San Blas visiting churches literally built on top of Mayan ruins. We will enjoy a delicious Peruvian dinner & enjoy a restful sleep before our journey continues! (Dinner is included)
Day 2: visit the incan sites
After a leisurely breakfast we begin our journey to Willka T’ika! Our guide will take us to the giant stones of Saksaywaman which overlook the city of Cusco. By these majestic ruins, a traditional K’intu blessing invites you to tap into the presence and energies of Pachamama, Mother Earth. Enjoy a picnic lunch, then drive to Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley through spectacular Andean mountain scenery. After our opening circle we will enjoy the first of our 3 course farm to table vegetarian dinners with one another. (B, L, D included)
Day 3: Meditation & ceremony
This day is dedicated to Pachamama, Mother Earth. Today after yoga and breakfast, relax in the splendors of nature and enjoy a tour of the Seven Chakra Gardens. Optional guided walk through the nearby Rumichaka farming neighborhood where Quechua campesinos live. More challenging hikes along scenic routes into the valley are also possible. After lunch, meet our pakko, a very special Q’ero healer, visiting from the high Andes. Participate in coca leaf blessings and a sacred “Despacho” ceremony. Optional private coca leaf readings may be available. Afternoon yin yoga and guided relaxation will be in the Chakra Gardens. After dinner, our pakko invites guests to an authentic and transformative Andean fire ceremony to honor Pachamama, yourself and your loved ones. The ceremony will remind us to focus our intention for this journey and serves as a wonderful preparation of mind, body and spirit for the pilgrimage to Machu Picchu. Before turning in, take in the panoramic skies and stars that go on and on and on… (B, L, D included)
Day 4: School Visit & P’isaq Day
After yoga and breakfast, drive through the Sacred Valley to a Quechua mountain school supported by the nonprofit Willka Tika children’s fund. Since 1995, Willka T’ika has supported high mountain community communities where few tourists are privileged to visit. In a reciprocal exchange, the group offers an activity the children can enjoy. The warmth and heart-warming joy of the children, and their openness in bringing guests into their daily lives are special moments not easily forgotten. Afterward, enjoy a riverside bag lunch.
Continuing with our guide we will visit the spectacular ruins of P’isaq. Overlooking impressive Incan terraces, our group will hike to the Temple of the Sun, a doorway to the upper Andean world of the Condor, messenger of the Gods. After spending time there we will return to the main square of P’isaq by bus and visit the famous, colourful market filled with woven goods, jewellery, wall hangings and hand-painted beadwork. Being in this market is gazing back to a time long ago. There will be time to enjoy a café or tea in the market square where you can observe colourfully dressed campesinos wearing traditional clothing coming to barter and sell their produce. P’isaq is a photographer’s dream! Return, relax and enjoy dinner! (B, L, D included)
Day 5: visit machu picchu
A Very full day! We are off after an early breakfast to Machu Picchu, the “City of the Inkas” on route taking the the luxurious Vista Dome train. This mysterious site has fascinated tourists and scholars since its discovery in 1911. It has been said to have been built on top of a giant crystal in the earth. Machu Picchu is an incredible marvel of architectural design and structure and has been said to have an incredible energetic field of higher life force. We will have time to find a quiet place and experience the wisdom of this magical place. In the afternoon, lunch at a wonderful restaurant and explore the town. Late afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where you will transfer to Willka T’ika. A nourishing dinner awaits and a wonderful deep sleep after such a special day. (B and D included)

Later in the afternoon we will have an opportunity to enjoy free time to rest, enjoy the spa, hike or perhaps read in the Chakra Garden. If you are feeling more active, choose from a variety of hikes and activities through the valley and up the mountains! Late afternoon yoga and another spectacular dinner await us in the evening.
